With established facilities and highly skilled professionals in Lausanne, Switzerland, Orbis Medicines is establishing discovery capabilities at a new Copenhagen site. The site is expected to house a team of 15 experienced professionals, bringing the total workforce to 30, including the Lausanne site.
As Advanced nCycle Peptide Designer at Orbis Medicines, you will join the newly established team in Copenhagen, Denmark, and contribute to discovering and developing innovative therapeutic solutions.
With direct report to the VP, Drug Discovery, you will be a vital member of the growing discovery team and drive the progression of design and synthesis of nCycles projects. You’ll play a pivotal role in establishing workflows and fostering cross-functional collaborations. This position offers significant personal development opportunities by taking on exciting projects as the pipeline evolves.
Your main tasks include:
- Defining the strategy for designing orally available nCycles in close cross-functional collaboration.
- Being a MedChem lead and/or discovery project lead.
- Leading design and synthesis of nCycles towards development candidate selection.
Your qualifications include over 10 years of industry experience in peptide chemistry, with expertise in designing peptides and/or macrocycles, ideally for oral use. You possess in-depth knowledge of the drug discovery process, particularly in the context of peptide-based therapeutics.
You have a PhD in chemistry/pharmaceutical science or a related field.
You are a person with strong scientific communication skills, effectively articulating strategies and expectations. You thrive in leading and motivating cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring accountability for project outcomes. With a keen ability to anticipate challenges, you develop contingency plans and adapt quickly to new methodologies and technologies, applying critical and creative thinking to devise innovative solutions.
