Chief Business Development Officer

As Chief Business Development Officer at DCC Energi, you will identify, create, and drive new business opportunities that support the strategic growth. This critical role advances DCC Energi’s position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions by prioritizing the development of products and services that support the energy transition.
With direct report to the CEO, you will work closely with the Chief B2B Sales Officer and the Chief B2C Sales Officer to align business development strategies with overall sales objectives and to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives. As a key leadership team member, you will contribute significantly to the company’s competitive positioning and long-term success.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are within the following areas:
Strategic Leadership in Energy Transition
- Lead the development and execution of a business development strategy that prioritises energy transition products and services, driving significant growth
- Collaborate with the CEO and Leadership team to define DCC Energi's strategic goals, focusing on energy transition initiatives
Market Expansion & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new market opportunities within the energy transition sector
- Forge and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance DCC Energi's position as a leader in the energy transition
- Lead negotiations and manage high-level partnerships and other strategic alliances, focusing on advancing our sustainable energy offering
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Work closely with the Chief B2B Sales Officer to support complex sales processes and in identifying high-value opportunities and closing significant deals
- Collaborate with the Chief B2C Sales Officer to align business development strategies with B2C sales and marketing efforts
Innovation & Competitive Analysis in Sustainability
- Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends and technologies within the energy transition sector that can be leveraged for business growth
- Conduct thorough competitive analysis and market research focused on the energy transition, ensuring that we stay ahead of industry trends and competitors
You have extensive experience from a senior business development leadership role, ideally within the energy sector or a related industry focused on sustainability and energy transition. You have a proven track record of driving business growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and innovation in energy transition products and services. Furthermore, you possess strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex deals and partnerships.
You have a master’s degree or higher in business development, sales, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
You are a person with a strategic mindset who can align business development efforts with broader company objectives, particularly in the context of energy transition. You have extensive experience in a senior business development leadership role, ideally within the energy sector or a related industry focused on sustainability and energy transition. You have also demonstrated project management leadership skills and excellent communication and collaboration abilities, mainly when working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and IT. You are highly result-oriented, focusing on driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in the energy transition sector.
